About Us

Just a Trace was founded in 2002 by Tracey Welp. As a mother of two young girls, Tracey noticed a need in Jasper for fun and educational toys for her daughters. Rather than settling, she decided to start her own business, and help parents find creative and fun ways for their own children to play.

Fellow girl mom, Kelsey Merkel, purchased the store from Tracey in January of 2026. She looks forward to continuing to provide creatively fun toys, crafts and games to the community for years to come!
